Matt Difanis
J.D., REALTOR®

Company Co-Owner

Matt Difanis 2013

Matt is a Champaign County native who graduated from Champaign schools, followed by earning his bachelor’s
degree and juris doctor from the University of Illinois. After doubling his real estate business while in law school
full time, Matt decided to continue a career he already loved, rather than changing careers to practice law.
Matt's law school education makes him uniquely well qualified as an advocate, negotiator, and problem solver
on behalf of his clients.

Matt's hobbies include running, bicycling and photography. He has run eleven full marathons since 2009, and
he can be found training outside during every month of the year for either a spring or fall marathon. During warm
weather, non-running days often include time on a road bike.

Matt has grown photography from an interest to an obsession, amassing a collection of professional gear,
which he unleashes on his real estate listings, capturing stunning images that are unrivaled by any of his local
competitors. While his photography talents can work wonders for high-end properties, the difference is even
more dramatic for more modestly sized homes, where his ability to capture flattering perspectives in tight
spaces can make a critical difference in attracting buyers.

Matt served as the 2012 President of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®, a 450 member trade
organization. Matt was honored as the 2013 REALTOR® of the year by the Champaign County Association
of REALTORS®. Matt serves on numerous committees for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® and
National Association of REALTORS®. Much of his work has been in the areas of professional standards and
government affairs. In his professional standards volunteer capacity, Matt has presided over many ethics and
arbitration hearings, helping the REALTOR® organization enforce its strict Code of Ethics. His government
affairs involvement has included chairing the Illinois Association of REALTORS®’ Government Affairs and
Public Policy Member Involvement Group. For the last several years, Matt has spent time in Springfield and
Washington, D.C., advocating on behalf of REALTORS®, home owners, and private property rights.

Matt is also a dedicated volunteer within his community. Matt currently serves as president of the board
of directors of the Mahomet Area Youth Club. During his time on the board, he helped craft a drastically
altered operations model that transformed the organization from serving a handful of students in a dilapidated
clubhouse to impacting positively more than 500 Mahomet area kids per year through after-school enrichment
programs offered on school campuses, funded by the non-profit. Matt also served for three years as the
volunteer photographer for Central Illinois Honor Flight, a non-profit organization that provided free trips to
Washington, D.C., for Word War II veterans. He can also be found tackling volunteer photography assignments
for his church.

Matt's work stems from a genuine passion for assisting people who are in the midst of hugely important and
complicated transactions. In the course of his 16 years of practice, he has represented several hundred clients,
attended hundreds of home inspections, and shown thousands of properties in the area. His combination
of experience and education make him uniquely well equipped to offer his clients expert guidance through
every step of an increasingly complex process. He works to share his expertise with each client to make the
home buying or selling process as simple and enjoyable as possible. As an added bonus, his notoriously low
amusement threshold means that very few clients get through a transaction without being
